Marathon Could Be Coming To PS4 & Xbox One

Marathon has officially been rated by the ESRB, which we all know; however, a small detail seems to have been overlooked: A Marathon PS4 or Xbox One port could be in development.

Bungie’s Marathon finally drops in 2026. You can finally get ready to EXTRACT and SHOOT to your heart’s content, and the question of where you can do this is the big one. A PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC release is already confirmed, but the ESRB certification tells a different story.

Marathon ESRB Listing Hints At PlayStation 4 & Xbox One Versions

Marathon was rated by the ESRB ahead of launch, and everything seemed normal. The game was assigned a ‘T for Teen’ rating due to its violence and the nature of the game’s content.

Nothing shocking so far, this rating was expected, and there’s nothing to write home about.

But the game’s platforms make for interesting reading. Here is the official list of Marathon platforms mentioned:

  • Windows PC
  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox One
  • Xbox Series

Nowhere, thus far, has Bungie commented on or even hinted at a PS4 or Xbox One port for Marathon, and given the specs and requirements required to run it, a last-gen version seems like a huge stretch.

Right now, the proof is there. So, it’s either a mistake on the ESRB’s part, Bungie has erroneously submitted an application for non-existent PS4 and Xbox One versions, or they really are happening.
