Is PowerWash Simulator 2 Crossplay? Cross-Platform Status Explained

We know that PowerWash Simulator 2 allows you to play with friends, but does the game have crossplay?

With the original game, players were stuck playing with friends who shared the same platform as them, but there have been many improvements in the sequel.

Here is your answer if PowerWash Simulator 2 has crossplay and other cross-platform functionality.

Yes, PowerWash Simulator 2 has crossplay functionality according to the game’s Steam page, allowing you to join games alongside players on different consoles or PC.

As of this writing, Futurlab has not detailed what crossplay looks like for players as they jump into the game, but they are the team that controls the content on the Steam page for the game. Listed in the features is “cross-platform multiplayer.”

Usually, when a game adds crossplay, there are two ways it will handle allowing friends to play together. First, the game may have a new account system that players will have to sign up for, in this case, something like a Futurlab or PowerWash account. From there, you would just find your friend’s account and add them.

Otherwise, it may just be a simple process of searching for your friend’s lobby by inputting a specific code or something similar to join their game. Either way, the process shouldn’t be so difficult that it prevents players from finding their friends and joining up together.

The original game did not have crossplay, so PowerWash Simulator 2 adding the functionality is a big change for the sequel.

Does PowerWash Simulator 2 Have Cross-Progression?

As of this writing, there has been no indication that there is any cross-progression in PowerWash Simulator 2. While that could change, it doesn’t appear that you will have the ability to carry your saves over to different platforms as you play.

For anyone thinking of maybe buying the game on multiple platforms, we would suggest you don’t get your hopes up. At the end of the day, Futurlab and PowerWash Simulator 2 are an indie developer and game, being self-published.

When setting out to make a game, the team probably put together a list of things they wanted to add. While cross-progression could have been on that list, it very easily could have been knocked off in favor of other priorities. Of course, that is all speculation, but game development is a challenging and drawn-out process. Sometimes, features like cross-progression just don’t get the attention they deserve, with the spotlight being put on crossplay.

Regardless, PowerWash Simulator 2 has done a lot to add more to the game over the original, and it’s not like starting over from the beginning on a new platform would be a terrible thing for some players.
