- Swapple is a new logic-based puzzle game out now on iOS and Android
- Swap tiles to form words and take on multiple modes to put your brain to the challenge
- Unlock new themes and even take on a timed mode to really up the ante
Since its invention, there’ve been numerous twists and iterations of Scrabble. The simple challenge of testing your vocabulary is one that’s gripped people for decades. Little surprise we’re still getting those kinds of twists on the formula in the digital realm, such as with today’s subject Swapple!
Unlike the classic board game Swapple sees you playing solo, and rather than having a dedicated pool of tiles, you’ll have them already set in front of you. The challenge? Moving the tiles around to form the required word in as few moves as possible.
Alright so calling it a twist on Scrabble may be a bit of a stretch, but how else would you describe it? Swapple also offers a variety of modes, be that a simple one-word requirement, a more challenging two-word goal or even really straining your brain cells by racing against the clock in time mode. You can find Swapple and try it for yourself as it’s out now on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
Swap ‘n share
Naturally, Swapple also boasts all the usual selling points of puzzlers nowadays. Be that a huge number of levels (over 400!), daily challenges or power-ups that’ll help you clear more challenging puzzles. It also offers unlockable colour schemes that are rather grandly dubbed as themes.
There’s plenty then to enjoy in Swapple. Do I reckon it’s going to be a new world-beating release? Well, that’s hard to say, but for what it is, it looks to be a great new addition to any puzzle-hungry player’s back catalogue.
