- Stumble Guys is getting a big update with its first 4v4 mode
- Take on a new twist on Capture the Flag with Rocket Doom
- Jump, blast and grab the enemy flag as you duke it out in this more focused mode
The one thing about huge competitive multiplayer experiences like Stumble Guys is that it can sometimes become a bit overwhelming dealing with so many players. Fortunately, if you’re looking for a more constrained and focused mode, you’ve got it with the new Rocket Doom update!
This aptly named, high-octane new mode brings the first 4v4 competitive map to Stumble Guys. How does it work? Simple, it’s Capture the Flag but with rocket launchers. And if that doesn’t set the neurons in your brain pinging I don’t know what will.
You’ll be placed on a set of platforms, armed with the aforementioned rocket launcher and have to engage in the usual Capture the Flag fare, but with the added threat of being blasted into the abyss by other players. Fortunately, you can still dodge and bounce across the map with new rocket-jumping movements to add to the classic chaos.
Screaming eagles!
No surprise that this mode is something Stumble Guys are eager to promote. Rocket launchers have been a classic component in multiplayer since the early days of Quake, and the ability to play modes other than the classic obstacle course is sure to entice players who want shorter and more focused matches.
Whether or not the so-called vaporwave aesthetics sway you is another thing together, however. But I’d say that for those who’ve been giving Stumble Guys a miss this may be the fuel-injected fun they need to give this a go!
But if you’re looking for something a bit more laid back, you’ve still got options. For example, why not dig into our latest review as Jupiter Hadley gives their thoughts on Lok Digital? This puzzle book turned game offers an intriguing premise as you explore logical, word-based levels to guide the titular Loks while learning the intricacies of their fictional language.
