Quilts & Cats of Calico is coming to mobile next month in major multiplatform release wave

Fans of cosy cats and quilting puzzlers can rejoice because you’ll soon have a new release that combines both of your favourites. That’s because the cute single-player and multiplayer puzzler Quilts and Cats of Calico is set to launch on mobile on March 11th as it finally emerges from the hinterlands of Steam.

The best way to describe Quilts and Cats of Calico is simply by the word cosy. In this 3D puzzler, your job is to create quilts, combining different sections of varying colours and decorating them to achieve high scores. You’ll also need to meet the desires of your metaphorical furry feline overlords who only desire certain quilts.

And it’s not just pure gameplay either, as Quilts and Cats of Calico also boast its own story mode where you explore a world of feline worshippers and attend to their whims as an up-and-coming quilter. Naturally, you’ll also get to interact with those fuzzy felines throughout as well! Whether that’s giving them a pat or seeing them racing around the board, you can even customise them with adorable outfits.

I think Quilts and Cats of Calico will be a very “love it or hate it” kind of release. Mostly because it is so incessantly adorable I can see it sticking in the craw of some people who’re tired of the cosy gaming trend. On my part, however, I haven’t grown quite that tired so I think that it looks worth a go. Being based on the board game Calico as well there’s a bevy of tried and true tabletop mechanics that it draws from!
