Capcom has revealed that its second open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds will feature its flagship monster, the Arkveld.
The second open beta test will be split into two sessions. The first one will run from February 6 at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET to February 9 at 6:59 PM PT / 9:59 PM ET. The second will be from February 13 at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET to February 16 at 6:59PM PT / 9:59 PM ET. Players can start preloading for the second open beta test starting today, February 5, at 7PM PT.
Both sessions will have identical content, including the character creation, story trial, and Doshagma hunt from the first open beta test back in November. There are a few new features in this upcoming open beta test, though.
Players can take on the Gypceros, a poisonous bird wyvern, as well as the Arkveld, the game’s flagship monster. Also known as the White Wraith, the Arkveld is a quadruped monster with grayish white scales, fur, and armor.
The training area will also be accessible, and players will be able to create a private lobby in order to hunt with specific people. The online single player mode will be available as well, which lets players go solo without joining a lobby. While the open beta test does not support PS5 Pro-enhanced features, there will be a dayone patch to implement PS5 Pro support.
Characters created in the open beta tests will be carried over to the full version of the game once it comes out on February 28, 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. For more on the PC version, be sure to check out the new system-benchmark test first.
