There was a tragic midair collision this week, between an Army helicopter and an American airlines flight. There were no survivors. Doug Zeghibe, CEO and executive director of the Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, told the media Thursday that six members of the club were on the plane, including two coaches, two athletes and the mothers of the athletes.
Taunton couple Deshawn McKinnon and Meghan Brown wanted to work together, be self-employed and do something that helped the community, so they started Pack A Bowl, a catering business that specializes in comfort food.

Fall River firefighter from Taunton risks losing lower leg without surgery; GoFundMe set up
James Dow, a dedicated Fall River firefighter and Taunton resident, has spent the last 20 years helping others.
Now, he finds himself in need of help.
Dow, 41, suffered a severe injury to his left foot and ankle, which has kept him out of work for over a year.
His talus bone (ankle bone), which was reattached, has developed necrosis. If not treated soon, he risks losing his left leg below the knee.
His wife Sara has created a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of his surgery.

Taunton school to be transformed into affordable housing
The old Leonard School building in Taunton will be redeveloped into affordable housing by the developer DSM Property Group, Mayor Shaunna O’Connell said.

Former Freetown-Lakeville superintendent sends second $1M demand letter — singling out 3 Freetown officials
Former Freetown-Lakeville Superintendent of Schools Alan Strauss has sent a demand letter to the town of Freetown accusing three town officials — Town Administrator Deborah Pettey, Finance Committee member Margaret French, and Selectman Carlos Lopes — of defamation. Strauss said that the town could owe him “up to $1,000,000” in damages.
