- Neon Runners: Craft & Dash is a new side-scrolling platformer out now on Android
- In global launch, it sees cute anime girls making their way through obstacle-strewn courses
- Make your own courses and share them with others!
One of the biggest coups that Nintendo had over the past few years was the release of the much-beloved Mario Maker. Letting you design your own levels in the iconic series was a smash hit, and map-sharing was popular even before that. So it’s no surprise developer Anykraft is taking a page out of Mario’s book with their newly-released Neon Runners: Craft & Dash!
Neon Runners sees you controlling cute anime girls as they bounce and dash along obstacle-strewn courses, evading deadly obstacles as they go and taking on both officially-made and user-created maps. You can even make and share your own maps to challenge the community!
Of course, there is a caveat to all this. Which if you’re like me would be a bit of a downer. Neon Runners has a bit of an emphasis on that old chestnut of Bitcoin. Users can earn in-game sweepstakes tickets which can be redeemed for rewards including the cryptocurrency, something the developers are bizarrely proud of.
Dashingly done
I’m not exactly sure where the craft part of the craft and dash part comes into play. But I’d guess that it’s because you can create courses yourself, and also to get that juicy bit of SEO to boot. But in terms of fun and fast-paced action, it looks to easily deliver what with the mix of flashy graphics and obstacle-lidden courses to overcome.
Of course, as I said above the inclusion of crypto and the compensated friend invitation program is going to put some people off, as it certainly did me. But if you’re not bothered by those kinds of inclusions, have at it.
