Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 expands upon the strong base of its predecessor. The action role-playing game attempts to be both a live-service always-online experience and a single-player third-person shooter, and it generally succeeds admirably. This portion can be mostly enjoyed alone, and the primary plot will keep players interested for at least thirty hours.
As an alternative, the majority of the campaign can be played in cooperative mode, which becomes available following the conclusion of the story’s introduction. In contrast, online cooperative gaming and PvP play a major role in the endgame content. There might be some debates on whether this title gives the same co-op vibes as Helldivers 2. But one developer revealed it was designed to be played as co-ops, with three of your other friends.
On the occasion of The Division 2‘s two-year anniversary, IGN India sat with Trick Dempsey, the senior game designer at the development company of the title, Massive Entertainment in an interview.
Dempsey asserts that two key components are necessary to make sure a game like The Division 2 works well for both cooperative and single-player play: technologies that guarantee consistent resistance and features that encourage dynamic group gameplay. Here’s what she stated about the game’s co-op format:
She also stated that this anchor can support up to two players, but not four. That is why four players should have the liberty to move anywhere they want to go without feeling claustrophobic. This emphasis on preparation and execution explains why gaming missions begin similarly, enabling more seamless gameplay regardless of the number of players.
Despite being two different games, both Helldivers 2 and The Divison 2 have one thing in common and that is their co-op experiences. The cooperative mode of The Division 2 offers a more engaging experience than the solo one. The dynamics of the game are significantly altered when you are playing with just one other player.
It’s a lot of fun. Flanking, coordination, such as covering fire and trading off reloads, and modifying your load-outs to support each other, all bring a new level to the game that you simply don’t get in solo. And with four players, it gets more fun. But not when Ubisoft is continuously delaying a highly requested DLC.
In Helldivers 2, the experience is a lot similar. Here, your task is to repel an invasion and retake Earth. There are numerous missions here where you must battle hordes of bug-like foes while earning points and raising up your character.
The fact that the title allows you to select your own weapons and equipment without worrying about class or character restrictions is what makes it so awesome. With a squad of up to four players, it’s also a fun experience that you can enjoy with friends. You and your friends can play together from the start and enjoy the whole experience together. Helldivers 2 has also learnt one thing from The Division 2, which has made the experience more immersive.
