Looking to understand how to get the Ghiza’s Wheel? It’s one of the few Elden Ring weapons that pay homage to Bloodborne, FromSoftware’s 2015 Gothic Horror hit.
Whether you’re trying to get it because you heard how good it was or want to feel like you’re a Hunter again, we’ve got your back.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about it, including the Ghiza’s Wheel location, requirements to wield it, and strategies to obtain it without much hassle.
The Ghiza’s Wheel is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring that scales with Strength and Dexterity. It requires 28 Strength and 18 Dexterity to use and has some killer base stats.
Fresh out of the kiln, this thing packs a punch. Without any upgrades, it deals 156 Physical damage and can also build up an enemy’s bleed meter (70 per hit).
Tip
The Axe Talisman and the Shard of Alexander are a great fit for this weapon.
It has a unique Ash of War called Spinning Wheel, that works similar to the Whirligig Saw in Bloodborne if you know it.
Essentially, holding the Ash of War button will cause your character to slam the wheel against the ground and start mowing whatever’s in front of you. Holding down the button will cause it to continue spinning.
This costs 3 FP and deals 4 stance damage per spin. You can effectively stun-lock some enemies just by holding down the charged attack button.
Just like our other Elden Ring guides, we’ll cover everything you need to know about it, including its location and the many ways you can get there. If you want, you can even take this weapon to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Unfortunately, getting to the Ghiza’s Wheel location early on in the game is quite difficult unless you know exactly what you’re doing. It’s located at Volcano Manor, and there are many ways you can get there.
The most straightforward way is to naturally progress through the game, by going to the Altus Plateau, Mt. Gelmir, and then finally Volcano Manor.
Typically, players get to Altus by obtaining two halves of the Dectus Medallions and using the Grand Lift. If you’re in a rush, you can get there through a cave starting from the Ravine-Veiled Village in Liurina of the Lakes.
Another way is to progress through NPC Rya’s quest. She’s located at a pavilion in Liurna of the Lakes and will take you to Volcano Manor. However, you will need to reach the Altus Plateau first.
If you get there via the Ravine-Veiled Village cave shortcut, she’ll be at the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace. If you take the Grand Lift, she’ll be waiting for you at the top.
The last method, and arguably the most difficult, is to get grabbed and die inside the secret Abductor Virgin that’s at the very bottom of the underground area in the Academy of Raya Lucaria (near the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace, which is found on the way to the Red Wolf of Radagon boss fight).
You’ll respawn in an area close to Volcano Manor only if you die inside it from getting grabbed and not from another attack.
This path typically takes you to a duo Abductor Virgin boss fight that’ll take you to an area of Mt. Gelmir close to the actual path to Volcano Manor. However, some players have found a way to execute a difficult jump that lets you get to Volcano Manor from this area.
Whatever way you choose, it’ll take you some time. When you finally get to Volcano Manor, you’ll be pleased to find out that the Ghiza’s Wheel is located right inside. It’s locked behind a fight with phantom Inquisitor Ghiza, though.
To trigger this fight, simply ascend the stairs in Volcano Manor’s main hall, and pass through the area with the dining tables. Ghiza will spawn in wielding his wheel.
Some Elden Ring items that help with this fight are a Wondrous Physick that will heal you over time, and Staunching Boluses that can reset the Blood Loss meter in case you get hit.
In terms of the best Elden Ring armor, it depends on your playstyle. We’d recommend going with any armor that will keep your equip load light or medium, as you’ll have to dodge out of this invader’s attacks.
Dealing damage from a distance is the easiest way to bring him down, but even if you have to melee him, he’s no sweat. If he tries to use the Ash of War, you have plenty of time to react and move behind him. He’s one of the easier invaders to take down, and even if you die, you’ll respawn right below.
After you take him down, the Ghiza’s Wheel is yours to use. That’s all you need to know about one of the most fun Elden Ring weapons. If you’d like to see more Elden Ring guides on other subjects, let us know in the comments below!
