Black Myth Wukong has finally been released for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms and, at a later date, for the current Xbox models. The gaming community had high hopes for this project and early reactions were extremely positive. The game developers of Game Science spent years working on this ambitious project and those years of hard work and sacrifices are starting to pay off, especially for those who worked on areas with secret boss fights that are prerequisites for a rare item.
The game is renowned for the insane difficulty akin to the Soulslike genre and the players will need every advantage. Secret weapons like the Mythical Golden Loong Staff could be useful in Destined One’s quest.
Game development is not for the faint of heart and is risky; however, the potential for failure did not stop Feng Ji from pursuing his dream. The founder of Game Science was no different from an ordinary gaming addict in today’s time and his passion for gaming opened a door of opportunity for him to pursue a career that and those years of sacrifices and risks culminated into Black Myth Wukong. Ji and his colleagues did not let fear get in the way and made a game they were all proud of.
The game was just released a few weeks ago and the gaming community did not waste a second diving into it to explore everything the developers have prepared. Some players discovered a few collectibles like Buddha’s eyeballs; however, they didn’t know what they were for until they realized it was a prerequisite for unlocking a secret boss fight with a worthwhile reward. These optional side adventures for the Destined One are perfect for straying away from the main path, and the Mythical Golden Loong Staff is another powerful reward that will take some backtracking and a few boss battles to unlock.
Black Myth Wukong players must make good progress across Chapters 1-4 and prepare for more Loong boss fights outside the main story. Players would have unlocked the blueprints or schematics of the mythical weapon after doing everything up to Chapter 3 and farm for the necessary materials to craft this item in Chapter 4. In Chapter 2, the Destined One will travel to the Valley of Despair after the King of Flowing Sands and the Second Prince and locate the crack with the Azure Dust transformation to gain access to the Loong Scales.
Once players acquire this item, they must return to Chapter 1 and reach Outside the Forest to find the first hidden boss. The Destined One will go back to Chapter 2 to Rockrest Flat to fight another Loong boss and make his way to the New West in Chapter 3 on Turtle Island to defeat another boss with worthwhile rewards and materials like the Loong Pearl followed by a chest of goodies. The final step is going to Chapter 4 and the the Mythical Golden Long Staff would be in his inventory; unfortunately, it cannot be crafted without the necessary materials that can be found after defeating the final Loong boss.
The game developers wanted the players to have full authority in their Black Myth Wukong experience. The gaming community powered through the single-player campaign and was left confused about the ambiguous ending which may vary depending on the amount of optional boss fights they have completed in their journey.
Multiple endings will greatly depend on the player’s progression. Optional boss battles may not seem like a priority for those who are only interested in doing the main mission and that could cost them the best ending for the Destined One and Sun Wukong. Four other optional boss battles including Erlang Shen will give the Destined One a fitting ending, arguably the best way to play the game.
Unlocking the Mythical Golden Loong Staff is one of many optional side quests for players to pursue if they choose to do so. It proves that doing side objectives can reap worthwhile rewards and increase the entertainment factor of any game.
Game Science thought of everything to the most minute detail and wanted to give the gaming community every tool they could find to defeat more omnipotent and overpowered foes. However, the game developers want the players to earn these weapons by backtracking and retracing their steps. Nothing will be lost if the Destined One takes a breather from the main story and players can gain more as they wander about.
