- DinoBlits is a casual strategy game where you play as, well, dinosaurs
- Build your own tribe and customise your own chieftain
- Fight off enemy dinosaurs and establish your own society
The destruction of the dinosaurs is one of history’s greatest mysteries. Well, personally I think a giant rock falling from space is probably one of the more likely options and a pretty reasonable way to kill giant lizards. But if you want a dino’s eye view of the extinction, DinoBlits promises to offer an unusual way of experiencing it.
DinoBlits is a sort of casual strategy game for which I’m sure there’s a very pertinent name. But in essence, you create and customise your own dino chief as the lynchpin of your community, creating both serfs to work the land and warriors to defend it. Which you’ll very much need given you’ll be under constant threat from enemy dinosaurs.
Fortunately, there’s plenty to do in DinoBlits, with dozens of island levels to complete and the ability to alter and customise your tribe’s strengths and weaknesses. Naturally, there are the usual promises of respecting your time, and lack of long grinds or lengthy tutorials, but how much DinoBlits lives up to that will be up to you.
What killed the dinosaurs?
I’ll admit I’m not exactly sure of the er, anthropological accuracy of DinoBlits, but at the same time from what I’ve seen it looks like a perfectly fun time to have. Whether that’s the pleasingly crunchy retro graphics or the simple gameplay, it fits the genre that it’s trying to do. Of course, you’re going to have to decide for yourself whether it’s worth it by trying DinoBlits for yourself on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
In the meantime though, if you’re still struggling with other top releases why not take a gander at some of our lists to help you along? Our regular feature of the top five new mobile games to try this week offers you top launches you can play right now!
