KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Fire investigators in Detroit are asking for help to locate a man suspected of causing an explosion that damaged several cars in August.
On August 15, a suspect was seen on video throw an object into the front passenger seat of a 2018 Chevy Traverse parked at a Post Office in the 17300 block of Harper Avenue in Detroit. The suspect poured an accelerant inside the vehicle and set it on fire, causing an explosion.

Six vehicles were damaged from the blast, including four that were burned by the explosion. The suspect was knocked off of his feet and suffered burns to his face.
Detroit fire investigators believe the suspect left Detroit and may be headed to either Tennessee or Texas. He is described a heavy-set male. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans with a dark hoodie.
