BOCA RATON — Three masked men ambushed a couple shortly after midnight Saturday as they arrived home from a casino and made off with $250,000 worth of cash and valuables, police said.
The victims, who live in the 600 block of Northeast 29th Place, told Boca Raton police that three men approached them on foot from behind nearby bushes as they were getting out of their car at their home. The men pointed guns at them, police said.
The men took nearly $250,000 worth of cash, watches, phones and a purse, the victims said. The men then entered the couple’s vehicle and removed a gun from the center console after attempting to steal the car, police said. The suspects then fled the scene westbound to an unknown vehicle.
The couple had just returned from a casino, police said.
Police described the suspects as Black males in their 20s. They were last seen wearing dark clothing and masks.
Investigators are seeking footage of this reported incident. Police are asking anyone residing in the area to review footage from their exterior home cameras. Detective Alfredo Lima is overseeing the investigation. He can be reached at 561-620-6246.
