Diablo 4‘s journey continues as players head into Season 7 titled the Season of Witchcraft. The new season comes with a lot of new features, from new enemies and bosses to the game’s first-ever flying pet, Dorian the Raven. Players have already started to prepare for the grind required to get it. So strap on!
As the first avian companion in the game, Dorian does more than just be cute on your screen, This new pet will automatically collect crafting materials and gold for you in your adventures through Season 7. To get this new pet, players will have to grind till Chapter 7 of the free battle pass for the season.
To unlock Dorian, we players have to complete the whole seasonal battle pass, which is a multi-chapter set of challenges and rewards that have varying difficulty. There are a lot of different objectives that range from defeating elite monsters to completing Nightmare Dungeons. However, the effort seems worth it. “I’ve never completed the season journey in any of the previous seasons, but I guess I’ll try this time around for the crow,” wrote one Reddit user.
I like that they made the pet crow hard to get. Gives players a good reason to grind the season journey

And that’s what the community response has been for the most part. Players are hyped to get the new pet, but the grind that it’s locked behind has some mixed reactions. One Reddit post appreciated that it’s hard to get since it’ll make players engage more with the game. But there are also players who think the grind will be too much.
Chapter 7 of the seasonal battle pass is titled Destroyer, and that’s where players can get Dorian the Raven. But it won’t be easy because Chapter 7 includes some difficult challenges like having to defeat 666 Monsters in Torment 4 without dying. You’ll also have to defeat 50 Elite Monsters while in Nightmare Dungeons in Torment 4 without dying. All in all, it’ll be quite the challenge.

Regardless, a lot of players will be going for it anyway. “It’s hard to get? Aw man, that crow is literally the only reason I’ll be playing this season,” says Reddit user u/PALLADIUM. It’ll definitely be worth it though because Dorian the Raven isn’t just a cosmetic, he is a pet after all and like all other pets, has a use.
Diablo 4’s pet system has been getting better and better with each new addition bringing something new to the table. And you’ll find that Dorian is no different. Like all other pets, you can expect Dorian to improve your efficiency as it will collect Gold, Herbs, Ore, Gem Fragments, Crafting Materials, Forgotten Souls, Murmuring Obols, and Aberrant Cinders for you.
While Dorian is a major highlight of the new season, Season 7 has a lot of new features other than that. We’re getting new Witchcraft powers that have been inspired by the Witch Doctor in Diablo 3. The season also introduces a new enemy type, the Headrotten, along with Headhunts and Roothold dungeons. We also have new Legendary Aspects and Uniques to grind for.
Overall, the new Diablo 4 season is a promising look at what’s to come. The game has had its ups and downs since its release back in June 2023 and the fact that it’s still going somewhat strong is a good sign for fans and players. But with Last Epoch and Path of Exile 2 competing in the same space, Blizzard definitely has to be on top of things.
