-“I know the anti woke don’t want to admit it but they basically cancelled this game.
Like how woke people cancel stuff they did it to this game because it didn’t fit their “view”.”
Terminology like “canceling” for DA:TV simply doesn’t work. It didn’t risk any impediments, whether by cultural factors or otherwise, of getting onto all the available storefronts that it wanted. There wasn’t even a hint of other industry types voicing their ire of its upcoming release – unlike that of the Six Days in Fallujah’s controversy. Potential consumers or longtime fans withholding their hard-earned money because they’re dissatisfied with what they’re seeing is just the free market at work. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if certain Veilguard devs said “don’t like it, don’t buy it” in response to irate fans before its release anyways.
With semantics out of the way, I also disagree on this point: I think anti-woke people will *proudly* proclaim their influence here for many of the reasons you just listed. For one, it solidifies their argument about how many gamers aren’t interested in what they’re selling. Either be more accommodative to the people who keep your lights on or get your cemetery plot planned out. That’s genuine consumer power.
