A manhunt is underway in Middle Tennessee after a welfare check Tuesday afternoon in Robertson County led to a grisly discovery.
Deputies were called to Fisher Grove Road and found a “deceased male” inside a residence, Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jessica Drake said.
Investigators believe a domestic situation occurred between a stepdad and stepson, resulting in the death. It was not immediately clear how the person was killed or how long he had been dead.
Police are searching for Jimmy Anthony Cox in connection with the case. He is believed to be on foot in the area.
Cox is considered dangerous, and the public is advised to lock their doors and use caution, Drake said.
The suspect is described as standing 6 feet, one inch tall, weighs about 175 pounds with blue eyes. He is bald, has several tattoos on his arms and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts, Drake said, noting that anyone seeing a person matching Cox’s description should call 911 immediately.
The Robertson County shooting is the second fatal shooting to occur in the greater Nashville area Tuesday. A second investigation is underway in the Berry Hill area and is believed to have originated around Green Hills Mall.
This is a developing story. Check back for more details as they become available.
