Officers found two passenger vehicles and two semi-trucks were involved in the crash.
The initial investigation indicated that a semi-truck “triggered a chain reaction crash” as it entered a construction zone and rear-ended a passenger vehicle, State Police said.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Josie Cardona, 35, of El Paso, died at the scene, State Police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
