A West Coast premiership star’s season is over before it began with the Eagles confirming Dom Sheed has ruptured his ACL at training.
The club said Sheed went down in an ‘innocuous’ clash at training on Monday before scans confirmed the worst possible news for the 29-year-old midfielder.
It continues a shocking run of form for Sheed with repeat hamstring and foot injury setbacks restricting him to just 24 games in the past three seasons.
The Eagles did not provide a timeline for his return but he is unlikely to feature during the 2025 season and will now consult with medical experts about the best path forward.
“Unfortunately, Dom ruptured his ACL in an innocuous incident during training on Monday,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said today.
“It is extremely disappointing news for Dom after a wretched run with injuries over recent seasons, and I know our players, staff and entire Club will offer him their full support during his rehabilitation.
“We will take some time now to consult with Dom and medical experts about the next step, and we will provide a further update at the appropriate time.”
