Dead Drops takes the stabilizers off and unleashes you into the world of Sniper Elite Resistance. Mission 2’s Kill Challenge might be better suited to players with a few more hours logged, but if you follow my advice, I can have a Rat Bomb in your hands and this challenge complete before the Germans realize what happened.
It’s likely your first attempt at taking out Kill List targets goes the same way—a bullet to the brain. But Sniper Elite Resistance gives you plentiful playgrounds to plot and scheme. Missions have unique ways of taking out targets, some of which come with fabulous rewards. Mission 2’s Dead Drop has you sneak about an infested German-filled town.
Philo Beck is one of the map’s many enemies. Developer Rebellion wants us to kill him with a Rat Bomb. It’s a literal rat, by the way, and one intended to cause a lot of damage.
We need to obtain the Rat Bomb from one of two locations in Dead Drop: A Workbench room or the beginning of the level, if you use the default Starting Location.
Let me take you through each Rat Bomb method, and you can decide for yourself which one to use in Sniper Elite Resistance:
- Head into Mission 2 Dead Drop—it can be on any difficulty setting.
- In this walkthrough, we’re using the Citadel Apartments Starting Location (but you can get here from any starting point).
- Use our Mission 2 Dead Drop Workbench guide and make your way to the room featuring Workbench Location 3.
- Break into the room using either a Pick or Bolt Cutters.
- Enter the room, and look to the right-hand side of the area.
- You should see a table with a French resistance flag behind it.
- The Rat Bomb is on the table to claim.
See if the second strategy suits you best:
- Choose Dead Drop as your mission, and select West Gate as the Starting Location.
- Spawn in and follow the natural path ahead.
- You should eventually see a barn.
- Go to it instead of heading to the main part of the level.
- Climb up the ladder inside.
- The Rat Bomb is at the top of the ladder, so take it and we can move on.
Head to the building I’ve marked with a red circle above, and you should see a white outline behind the bar to plan the Rat Bomb.
It doesn’t matter which Rat Bomb you find in Sniper Elite Resistance, the final part of this walkthrough is the same:
- After you grab the Rat Bomb, go to the building with the red circle in the screenshot above.
- Philo Beck isn’t in here, but he is patrolling the area.
- Head behind the bar area—remember to keep quiet and not alert Philo Beck or anyone else.
- Look on the floor to see a rat outline saying Plant Rat Bomb.
- Do this, and move into the room behind the Rat Bomb’s location.
- Philo Beck enters the building, and you need to draw his attention to your location to make him walk behind the bar to the bomb.
- I recommend throwing a bottle at the rat once he’s inside as it’s nice and easy to use, they’re everywhere, and it makes a lot of noise.
- Wait for Beck to be within touching distance of the Rat Bomb and shoot it to make it explode and complete the challenge.
- If he wasn’t close enough, or it doesn’t work, repeat every step in this guide until it works.
While you’re on Dead Drop, you may as well check out the location of its Propaganda Poster. Plus, bookmark how to kill Schoene with a Coal Torpedo, as it’s also another tough Kill Objective.
