Marvel Rivals is currently one of the most popular multiplayer video games in the world, however, many players are still struggling to understand how the game works. The game primarily features three different classes: Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists. Like every other hero shooter, different classes mean different roles, but some players fail to understand what they have to do.
As Duelists, players focus on getting the most damage and most kills, but this might be the wrong move as per this streamer. He recently suggested that Duelists need to start focusing on getting more kills by inflicting as little damage as possible because giving more damage and getting no kills is only feeding the Ultimate abilities of Strategists since they can heal their teammates.
A streamer who goes by the name P_tatoTV recently shared a video (via @mrjamesbmx on Instagram) explaining the role of Duelists in NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivls. He criticized those players who blame their teams when they get a high damage score and very little kills, explaining that their focus should be on getting little damage and more kills.
This is because when Duelists inflict damage, the Strategists in the enemy team are able to heal their teammates. This not only boosts their health but also feeds the Ultimate ability of that particular Strategist. Duelists are specifically targeted because they inflict the most damage, so players could try out this playstyle if they are struggling to get wins.
NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on December 6, 2024, and in just roughly two months, it has managed to overtake its competitors. Many have pointed out that Marvel Rivals shares a lot of elements with Blizzard’s Overwatch 2, however, statistics have proved that players are now preferring Marvel Rivals over Overwatch 2. Blizzard has now announced that it is bringing back the classic 6v6 mode, which is clearly an attempt to save the game.
It’s hilarious that Blizzard is now adding all the features that players have been asking for a long time, just because Marvel Rivals came into the picture. NetEase Games studied almost every popular PvP video game to make sure that Marvel Rivals doesn’t repeat the same mistakes.
Despite its success, Marvel Rivals still has some issues that many hero shooters face. The game is filled with instalockers who like to play only as Duelists. Since the game features more Duelists than Vanguards and Strategists, teams are often unbalanced. Players came up with a solution for this, however, it could kill Marvel Rivals‘ popularity.
