It’s been nearly two months since Marvel Rivals made its official debut, and the game’s community is still uncovering the hidden strengths and weaknesses of each hero. While various heroes are standing out, it turns out that the true menace lurking in the shadows is none other than Spider-Man.
This beloved web-slinger has become an absolute terror for one archetype in particular: Strategist, essentially healer mains. With his unpredictable mobility and disruptive abilities, he has quickly become the most feared character for healers, and players are searching for ways to deal with him.
Players were excited to see the friendly hero swing into action in Marvel Rivals. After all, this is the same Spider-Man who’s always been known for his quick wit, charm, and ability to lend a hand in times of crisis. Who wouldn’t want him on their team, right?
Well, it turns out, that while he might be friendly to his allies, he’s been far from friendly to enemy support mains. His web-shooting skills and mobility have made him a disruptive force that’s constantly throwing a wrench, in this case web, in the plans of support players.
His core abilities center around his mobility and his web-shooting skills, giving him quick and unorthodox movement. These webs don’t just slow down opponents, they can stun and pull enemies in.
This ability to stun and reposition heroes, especially support (who have less measure to deal with him) makes it nearly impossible for them to focus on healing/supporting their teammates. Well, support players are not happy and are trying to find new ways to deal with the web-slinger.
As a support, how am I meant to deal with this TERRORIST?

Many have taken to social media and gaming forums to express their frustrations. While players are complaining, they can’t do anything as this is what the character is simply made for. Players are now looking at ways to deal with him.
Just like how Iron Fist is a menace to the adversaries (with his dash and great damage), Spider-Man has also become one in the hands of a skilled player. Players are now maximizing the hero’s abilities to create chaos and devastation.
While he can certainly deal damage, players have quickly recognized his role as a DPS and disruptor. When played effectively, he will weave in and out of combat, isolating enemy support players and preventing them from doing their job.
For healer mains, well, this is what makes him painful. So, support mains have to do a bit of extra work to learn other useful support heroes, particularly Loki, who with his clone can easily confuse others.
Everything considered, it’s all about how players utilize the various hero abilities, as if played effectively, any hero can be a menace. As more heroes get added to the roster and meta changes, it’s clear that Web-slinger has found a perfect balance between eliminating enemies and dismantling enemy support.
In the end, whether you’re a healer trying to keep your team alive or a DPS player trying to find the perfect counter, one thing is certain: Spider-Man is here to stay.
