- Adventures of a Cat in Space is an upcoming point-and-click adventure
- Oh, did I mention it’s a musical?
- Guide a cat home from space with only the ship’s AI (voiced by Arthur Darvill) to help!
Earlier today I was writing about the upcoming mix of action, puzzle and farming simulator Super Farming Boy and discussed how mobile seemed to be a hotbed for experimentation with established genres. I thought that was going to be the strangest release I covered today, but I was wrong because there’s now a musical adventure of a cat lost in space to talk about!
Adventures of a Cat in Space is precisely what it says on the tin. Due to a series of unfortunate mishaps, you play a cat that’s now lost in space. Aided only by the ship’s computer (voiced by Arthur Darvill of Doctor Who fame) you’ll need to journey through the galaxy, explore alien planets and solve puzzles to return home.
Oh, did I mention this is a musical? Yes, that’s right, a musical. This all-ages adventure will not just see you solving the usual bevvy of point-and-click brain-busters, but also collecting 11 distinct songs created by children’s composer David Gibb to boot.
Hairball in orbit
Adventures of a Cat in Space will launch with a lite version (boy, been a time since we’ve had those, eh?) that will let you have a go at the initial chapter of the release while introducing you to many of the core mechanics. I can’t vouch for how well it holds up to the puzzle proclivity of your kids, but I’ll bet there are plenty of adults who’ll get a kick out of the seemingly quirky humour of this upcoming release.
You’ll be able to find Adventures of a Cat in Space on the iOS App Store, but no word on an Android release (yet). However, if you’re looking for something else to scratch that puzzle itch you can take a gander at our whopper of a list of the top 25 best puzzlers for iOS and Android!
